We are looking for a Senior Naval Architect to join our technical team. The role requires an excellent understanding of Naval Architecture principles and the ability to use that knowledge together with sound engineering. In particular, knowledge of the methods and tools used within hydrodynamic design and assessment is desirable. Practising knowledge of propeller or propulsor design and assessment would also be beneficial.
Responsibility
- To undertake Naval Architectural tasks as required on projects
- To lead projects, where allocated, ensuring that they are delivered to the required standard, within the prescribed timescales.
- To undertake and execute Naval Architectural and related discipline tasks as required as part of projects run by yourself and others.
- Ability to develop alternative strategies to overcome issues and innovate to improve the overall value to the customer.
Qualification required
- BEng/MEng in naval architect discipline
- Chartered engineer status would be a considerable plus
- Previous experience in the design of maritime vessels, working with class rules, concept through to detailed design
- Strong analytical skills, inquiring and creative mind set
- Good communication skills, both written and presentational. Including the ability to exchange complex information.
- Understanding of hydrodynamics, seakeeping and manoeuvrability
- Knowledge of Classification Societies, Flag Administrations and IMO Rules and Regulations

We’re looking for someone who has a strong contact list and holds existing relationships with the marine/boat brokers. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the current boat/houseboat market and where to leverage spends to drive sales. The most important aspect of this role is to source significant levels of new customers, develop strong client relationships, and deliver the highly professional service.
Responsibilities:
- Leverage existing and new relationships to build their own pipeline of opportunity.
- Proactively identify and prospect new potential clients then contact them by cold call or email which generates solid leads
- Ability to build rapport and understand customer needs.
- Strong relationship building and account management of customers.
- Ensure a high level of accuracy across campaigns.
- Have an active role and input in team strategy and company sales meetings.
Qualification required:
- Previous experience within a boat sales and/or customer service environment (necessary).
- Expert knowledge of the boat/houseboat market.
- A passion for life on the water/boating (necessary).
- A real can-do positive attitude.
- Sales & negotiation experience, the ability to close a deal
- A proven ability to close deals and achieve targets.
- Some knowledge/use of social media platforms and CRM tools (desirable)
- Commitment to being a team player in a dynamic environment.
